This transformable conference room of the Corporate University campus is named after the Russian steelmaker-inventor Vasily Pyatov (1824-1892).

An apprentice under a watchmaker, he was employed at the Boris Jacobi laboratory in Saint Petersburg. From 1855 he was a mechanic, from 1857 a manager of Kholunitsk Ironworks and Iron Foundries in the Vyatka Region (renamed Kirov Region). Following this, he worked at various mining and metallurgy enterprises, as well as gold mines. His designs were used in iron and steel furnaces, re-heater furnaces, edge cutters, rolling mills. His main invention was made in 1859: high-productivity rolling of armour plate followed by chemical surface hardening at high temperature.
